The shop in Draycott Avenue, opened in 1998, was Tocca’s first outlet in Europe. We adopted as the house identity the duck-egg blue and gold first developed by their designers in the USA and Japan. We opened up the building - a Victorian house - to reveal a shop interior entirely clear to the street.
What was special here, however, was that the entire interior was one free-flowing space from the basement floor to the roof. We achieved this with folding fireproof panels and high technology. Tim Warner and Peter Phillipson, of Future Group Lighting, devised the discreet lighting using an innovative raft system. Tocca later sold the premises to Jimmy Choo, who sold it on to Bamford.
