Interior Design

Are rooms for living in or looking at? Do they reflect our aspirations, our failure or successes? Are we conscious of their place in fashion or do we wish to expose our anti-fashion? Do they remind us of our past or describe our future? Do we care about how others think or feel?

This is Murray's family living room. A few pieces of handed-down furniture, off-white walls, a plywood floor, some shabby rugs and old books, but everything has a story. Father-in-law brought the blue rug home from the Middle East after the war. The picture on the wall is of three of old pals and the TV is brand new and digital! But is this interior design? We are, of course, very conscious of what goes in and what stays out of the room, but can never be sure where the threshold of simply making unconscious choices ends and interior design begins.
