Gilt mounts at Lower Mall, Hammersmith
Fred Kinseley, an unusually skilled draughtsman and master carver, made this before carving the mount. He spent much of his apprenticeship at the Victoria & Albert Museum drawing furniture and woodwork, the only way to develop real skill with versatility. The drawing was glued to the wood for the tools to follow. The result can be seen in the Interior Design section.
