St Francis, North Kensington
St Francis was derelict and redundant when the Revd Ian Dowsett became incumbent in the early 2000s. A competition to design a vibrant centre for this challenging neighbourhood was established in 2002, but the hundreds of thousands of pounds needed failed to materialise, so we, as the church's Inspecting Architects, devised a progressive maintenance programme. The third phase, now in progress, will repair the roof and the front of the building.
